Giovanna Godby Author, Essayist, Public Speaker, Coach

Giovanna Godby taught college and high school English for eighteen years, interrupted for seven years while she completed her most challenging, creative work—being a stay-at-home mom.  Her return to teaching brought her to Christian Academy of Louisville where she taught Honors Sophomore and Honors Senior English, including Composition, Creative Writing, Public Speaking and both World and British Literature.

Giovanna’s son graduated from Christian Academy in 2010, and she graduated with him, so to speak.  Retirement allowed her to travel the Southeast watching her son play collegiate football, to spend time with her husband and parents, to lunch quite often with girlfriends, and to pursue her love of writing. In 2013, a chicken and two silly ducks came to life in the pages of Giovanna’s first children’s book—Quaddles, Dwaddles and Elizabeth: The Tale of a Very Confused Chicken.

A proud Kentuckian, Giovanna Godby lives in Louisville and spends her time working on her upcoming children’s book; blogging; speaking at schools and meeting all sorts of wonderful, funny children; coaching nervous, reluctant public speakers on everything from graduation speeches to eulogies; and enjoying her first love, her family.
