QUADDLES, DWADDLES, AND ELIZABETH: THE TALE OF A VERY CONFUSED CHICKEN
“Quack! Quack! It’s good to be a duck!” Elizabeth hears that declaration all her life and never understands why those words don’t excite her the way it does her “duck” sisters, the only other “fowl family” she knows. Try as she might, Elizabeth just never enjoys the rain, fails at waddling, and “clucks” instead of “quacks.” Only when she moves to the farm and discovers that she is a HEN does the world finally make sense! Elizabeth realizes that while it’s good to be a duck, “it’s GREAT to be a chicken!” In this, her first children’s book, Giovanna Godby explores what it means to discover who you are and then like who you find.
